Ok, now for me this generation of hip hop legends was just a little before my time, but as a kid I remember some of their hit records. I mean, I was like 5 years old when most of these tracks hit the scene. I’m talking tracks of course EVERYONE knows like Salt-N-Pepa’s worldwide dance song “Push It”, or Doug E Fresh’s infamous hour-long beat-boxing skills. I remember Kid-N-Play’s movie “House Party” and also their famous dance they did. What about EPMD with the smash track called, “You Got’s To Chill“. And we can’t forget Whodini’s true hip hop track entitled “One Love” or “Friends“. That track right there will forever be a classic. I think I might have a new ring tone ya digg.
One of my favorites and highlights for sure was hands down Slick Rick, the Ruler. Tracks like “Hey Young World” or “Children’s Story” and “Teenage Love”. Allll man…classics! It was rappers like Slick Rick who lead the way for up-and-coming kids like Snopp Dogg, i.e. La Di Da Di…
Anyway, this show was definitely a blast from the past. It was a very emotional experience, which was strange. Nothing funnier than seeing Black people all emotion at an old school hip hop concert lol!
Lastly, have to send a big shot out to my man Perry for inviting me out for this one. I owe you one fam…
